Christa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#2623) and holds a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. She is also a Minnesota Board of MFT and Minnesota BBHT approved supervisor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Saint Olaf College.
In 2010, Christa began her career working in adult foster care and case management, serving adults who have severe mental illnesses. A practicing psychotherapist since 2012, Christa's main clinical interest is helping adults identify what subconscious beliefs have been operating in their lives from an early age. Most often this is done utilizing her primary modality of EMDR combined with psychodynamic principles. Christa is also trained in and utilizes Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Existential Therapy.
Outside of work, Christa loves to study, read, and ponder life's great mysteries. She also enjoys singing in a local cover band, working out, and spending time with her friends, two sisters, niece, and two nephews.
Insurance
Christa is not currently an in-network provider with any insurance plans.
We can provide a “superbill” for you to submit to your insurance for receiving out-of-network benefits; we cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance. To offer you privacy and simplicity, we accept HSA/FSA credit cards, accept all major credit cards, as well as cash or checks. Please check with your insurance provider to find out the portion of session fees they cover if you use out-of-network benefits.
Paying Privately
When not utilizing insurance benefits, sessions with Christa are $180 per hour. Making therapy affordable is a priority and if the full fee poses financial hardship, an income-suggested sliding fee scale is available. Please contact Christa for more information about this option. Payment may be made by cash, check or major credit card.
