Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy

John is a Masters Level Clinician seeking licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.  He holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and has a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas.

John’s clinical experience includes working with couples, families, and individuals.  He has experience working with men struggling with anger, families with difficult relationship dynamics, people with trauma, individuals with anxiety and depression, struggles regarding sexuality, and emerging adults.

John approaches therapy from a holistic perspective striving to integrate all aspects of one’s life, from the practical to the spiritual, in order to help couples, families, and individuals address obstacles preventing them from experiencing love, freedom, and peace in their relationships and everyday lives.  By providing a safe and open environment that fosters empathy and communication, John seeks to help couples and families explore their struggles and work together toward shared goals that promote greater cohesion, understanding, and trust.  Further, he works to help individuals gain greater understanding of themselves by exploring how their relationships influence them.  John welcomes integration of faith in understanding and addressing mental health needs.  Through his own faith journey, he has found his faith to be an incredible source of hope and healing and seeks to bring this into the therapeutic space.

In the other parts of John’s life, he is first and foremost a Catholic, a husband, and a father.  He loves the great outdoors and has an ever-growing list of hobbies ranging from waterskiing to rock collecting.  He cherishes spending quality time with his family and friends and is always up for an adventure!

John is available for individual, couple and family therapy in office and via telehealth.  He practices under the supervision of Kenna Millea, LMFT (MN #3598).
