Gina Downs

Clinical Intern

Available for sessions virtually or in-person at the Hopkins location

To connect with Gina,
contact Kenna Millea:

Gina is a clinical intern pursuing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Adler Graduate School. Gina received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the College of St. Benedict. Before beginning her clinical training, Gina spent over a decade serving in marriage and family ministries within the church, and facilitated support groups for women navigating marital struggles.

Gina’s own marital journey, including her experience with individual, couples, and group therapy, profoundly shaped her desire to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families in their healing process. She brings a holistic, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, with a particular passion for helping clients find growth through life’s most challenging moments. She integrates spirituality, honoring each client’s unique beliefs and experiences.

Gina has experience supporting clients through grief, trauma, betrayal, boundary-setting, and negative thought patterns. She believes healing begins in safe, connected spaces where people can reclaim their stories with courage and compassion.

Outside of her work, Gina enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on daily walks and bike rides with her husband and four children. She finds peace in nature and joy in music, often sharing her voice as a singer at weddings and funerals.

Gina is an intern working under the supervision of Kenna Millea, MA, LMFT (MN #3598).
