Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services

Kate Rillo is completing her Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, MN. After her undergraduate work, she served as a missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). Through this experience, Kate's passion for accompanying others on their healing journey grew. After finishing her work with FOCUS, having worked as an elementary art teacher, nanny, and photographer within that time, she felt the call to return to school for counseling and therapy.

Kate is passionate about integrating the Christian faith with mental health. She believes therapy is a courageous step one takes to become who God has called them to be. She sees the person as a whole and brings both mental and somatic approaches together. Kate desires to help her clients through compassionate listening, being in the present moment, and equipping them to cope in the future. Her approach when working with couples is one of curiosity and reverence as she seeks to restore the beauty and bond between two people.

In her free time, Kate enjoys baking, drinking lattes, gardening, getting creative, and spending time with her husband.

Kate is a clinical intern working under the supervision of Ben Baker, MA, LMFT (MN #4240).
